Pizza Base – Thin Crust
Dough- makes 8 thin crust personal pizza’s or 4 normal pizza’s. This is a family favourite and great when we have friends over for an informal get together and everyone can top their own pizza . . . . great party idea !
2 sachets dry yeats (16 gm)
1 1/4 cup warm water
2 tspoon salt
1 tspoon sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
4 cups bread flour (gluten enriched)
Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
Add the salt, sugar and olive oil and whisk together. Add the salt last as the salt can kill the yeast if it is not dissolved properly. Allow to sit for 10 minutes in a warm place.
Into the mixer with a dough hook add the flour and the yeast mixture and combine until the dough forms and it is smooth and elastic.
At this stage if the dough is too dry ass a small amount of warm water until the right consisentency is achieved, or if its too wet add in a little more flour.
Cover with a cloth and set aside to rise for 2 hours.
Once risen, knock the dough down again and divide into portions.
4 – normal base pizzas, 8 thin crust pizzas. Cover again and let rise for another hour.
When ready roll the dough out into rounds and top.
