An Easy Appetiser. Making the most of the last figs of the season, the sweetness of the figs is perfectly complimented by the saltiness of the Proscuitto and the creaminess of the cheese. If your feeling a little more adventurous try the recipe with Blue cheese or Taleggio.
12 ripe figs
24 slices of proscuitto
24 sage leaves
1 brie wheel – cut into 24 thin slices
Pre-heat the oven to 200C Wash and dry the figs. Cut into half from top to bottom removing the stalks. Place a sage leaf and Brie wedge into the centre of the fig and wrap in a slice of proscuitto.
Place into the baking tray. Continue until all the figs are wrapped. You can also make this recipe without the proscuitto for vegetarian friends.
Just make sure to slight push the sage and brie into the fig slightly so it doesnt slide off. Place in the hot oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
Broil until hey start to turn golden and serve hot. Enjoy !!!
